Highly recommend this restaurant for your stop on your trip to/fro Merzouga. I personally think the route via Alnif has great views and landscape. Anyway, I only reserve my 5-stars for the best food, and this restaurant definitely deserves them. We had the Mixed Skewers for 70 MAD and Mutton Tajine for 60 MAD, paired with mint tea for 20 MAD for 2 glasses. Firstly, the skewers, definitely order them, as the chicken skewers we had was juicy and well-seasoned. Not dry at all as compared to other chicken skewers I had. Then the meat/beef skewer, doneness of medium rare, soft to chew with juiciness, as opposed to others I had which are hard and sometimes leathery. Second is the mutton tajine. Again, soft and tender, coupled with the vegetables, made it very flavorful. Perfect to have it with the bread provided. Mint tea is as per usual all over Morocco, mint fragrant and refreshing after a long drive. The staff is friendly and the speed of service is okay, not as slow as other places in Morocco. Overall, out of my expectations.
I had a wonderful stay here! The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The food at their restaurant is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is great. The room was comfortable, and the surroundings are beautifully maintained. The price is very reasonable, and the area feels safe and peaceful. We were also able to park our motorcycles securely, which was a big plus. Highly recommend!
I stayed the night here, had my dinner and breakfast here too. What a fantastic place with such welcoming staff. Mbarik looked after me as soon as I walked through the door, despite not having a reservation. Stayed the one night whilst cycling through, can’t recommend it enough. Best breakfast I’ve had in Morocco so far, absolutely delicious and plentiful.
