Finding myself in El Jadida with time to spare, I decided to venture to the central marketplace to view the local selection. The market generally certainly isn't the grandest I've been to, with a greater selection of alcohol on sale than fresh fruit and vegetable purveyors. The busiest section of the market was dedicated to fresh fish, with several stalls selling a local selection and a restaurant grilling and frying. I started by purchasing a medley of figs, ubiquitous sold across the city, as well as a bream and several large shrimps. Of all the seafood markets I visited in Morocco, El Jadida's was considerably the cheapest. At the restaurant, my figs were washed and placed in a fridge, and I sat down waiting for my seafood to be grilled over charcoal. Served with a selection of Moroccan salad, lightly pickled chiles and harissa, the seafood was perfectly cooked and very fresh. El Jadida's notoriety for produce was also evident, as all the fruits and vegetables I sampled were of a notably high quality.
It’s better to choose your selection of fish whether in port or on central market… i tried “Breija Restaurant"…
We had best nougat ice cream and great doughnuts too 🤗 …
If u want to eat a fresh fish (seafood) with good quality i will definitely recommend this place , but there are too many cats so i won't recommend this place to someone who hates cats
