Today I was in the mood for something different, local, and not touristy. I found a place with charm and delicious food. The restaurant is family-owned, and they live next door. It's a little walk outside the city center, but worth it. The owner himself greeted me, made me feel welcome, and took my order. I ordered the Moroccan mint tea, vegetable soup, and a vegetarian tagine. First came the soup with bread on the side. The soup was creamy, and the bread was freshly made. The Moroccan mint tea was perfect, one of the best teas I've tasted so far. The flavors were balanced, and it wasn't incredibly sweet. Then the vegetarian tagine came—what a delight when he removed the top, and I could hear the crackling sounds and see the steam. I tasted almonds and prunes; this was definitely different, which I enjoyed. The flavors were dancing all over my mouth. If you want a real traditional local experience, this is the place. The chef is an amazing cook. Thank you.
This is by far the best meal and tea we had during two weeks in Morocco! We had the Tagine Kefta, Seffa, soup, orange salad and Berber Salad. Each dish was amazing. The service was a little slow, but the staff are very kind and the atmosphere is super cozy. It’s a little hard to find since it’s tucked into a residential area, but just follow the signs and you’ll find it.
We have been in Morocco for 5 weeks so have a lot of places to compare. Chez Nadia does the traditional menu, but does it really well. We both soup, the vegetable one was drizzled with oil and fresh herbs. I had the Moroccan soup, the best I’ve had. We had the meatball and meat with prunes tagjnes, followed by tea and coffee. 200mad incl tip. The host has very good waiter skills and spoke many languages. Very close to the monument of the resistance building and a Berber home … both really worth visiting.
What a lovely restaurant! The service, the food, the atmosphere and the hospitality were all 10/10. It was an absolutely authentic experience and we would recommend it to everyone. On top of that, when we asked for a taxi back to the hotel, the restaurant owner (!!) took us back home with his own car while the restaurant was completely full. We are so happy we found this hidden gem in Morocco!
Such a great little lokal restaurant! Nestled in a residential area just close to the local gym, it is a true gem. I enjoyed the food very much, and the atmosphere was very lively! On top, the owner took me and my wife by his car back to our hotel, when she was feeling a bit unfit although the restaurant was still busy. 11/10 for the hospitality and the food.
