Very nice valley. You can drive through the valley and a loop to Tafraoute with a standard car. No 4x4 required. See the screenshot from Maps. On the road from east to west (south of Mansour valley) there are some bridges destroyed. There is a piste through the river bed then. No problem to drive there but you should probably not do it when it's raining. See picture.
Beautiful walk through date palms and waterways. The lush greenery really contrasts with the harsh desert drive to get there. Highly recommend parking up and walking through to immerse yourself. Also lots of little cafes and stops along the way to refresh. We walked for 90 mins out and back and felt that was plenty.
Very beautiful oasis and it makes a stunning drive when you make the loop. When we visited in January 2026 there were many detours due to collapsed bridges and roads. We did it in a 4x4 but is doable with a normal car (unless the is a lot of rain)
Well worth the trip if you are in the area, don’t miss it. The road up there from Tafraoute is interesting and as you dip down into Ait Mansour the palm filled valley is a great and unusual sight. Make the time to go here.
Stunning gorge filled with date palms and almond groves. Lovely to see the mountain spring filling the waterways. This is a truly magical drive, though if you have an especially tall or wide vehicle you might struggle to navigate the palms thickly crowding the road. Good coffee and excellent chat from Abdou.
