Ancien medina Tétouan
HJCM+4HJ, Tetouan, Morocco, Tetouan, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima
As the guidebooks say, this place isn't very touristy, meaning it's not frequented by many tourists, and wandering through the alleys of the Medina and the souk, you'll immediately notice: the shopkeepers aren't trying to sell you anything at all, they're not pushy, in fact, they're very courteous and willing to be photographed. The shops are very un-commercial; they don't sell the usual knick-knacks and souvenirs, but are "real," authentic shops where locals actually go to shop and buy what they need for their homes. It's full of artisans sewing, building, and repairing. This is a slice of real Morocco.
