We loved this Artisan souk and I recommend a visit as we passed a pleasant couple of hours meandering around the bazaar. The atmosphere is relaxed, the artists are friendly and passionate about their craft and it was a joy buying some quality products. The high point was buying well made stylish leather sandals from the friendly Yosef, beautiful smooth olive and Juniper bowls (lovely wood from wonderful trees), and honey from the lovely Sarah, all from very polite friendly souls. There was a beautiful boutique which created stylish, pretty, feminine and modest Moroccan woman’s clothes. I am impressed how the retailers can speak English to me and Spanish to my wife. This is the best of Agidir and teaches us we are all one…
We visited this small market after Agadir Medina - we took a short ~15 mins walk from there. The market/mall is not big. Quite a range of nice craft shops there. It wasn't quite busy when we visit there during lunch time hours. There is also a small cafe where we enjoyed some drinks and snacks while waiting for our taxi driver to pick up up.
People have tried to artificially recreate the medina in Marrakesh. It's a tourist trap. If you want to experience something authentic, don't go there! Only tourists, no locals (except the shopkeepers). We thought there was a museum, but it was closed when we were there. But the main focus in the centre is definitely selling stuff.
You can get anything handmade here. Even customized leather goods. If you want to support local artisan, go here. You find better prices than in any souqs and the creators benefit directly from it. No matter if you are a local or a tourist, they give you the same price.
