My visit to Bouzafar Mosque was a calming and memorable experience. The mosque’s architecture is elegant, with beautifully designed minarets and traditional Moroccan details that reflect the city’s rich heritage. The surrounding area is peaceful, allowing for quiet reflection and appreciation of the mosque’s beauty. I particularly enjoyed observing the intricate craftsmanship and serene atmosphere that the site offers
This hilltop mosque has great views of the town. Getting here is a straightforward, uphill walk on paved paths. Takes between 15-30 minutes depending on your walking speed. Impossible to miss or get lost along the way, however the path can be a bit slick when wet, so shoes with good grip are highly recommended in rainy season. Probably the best views you'll see of the whole town. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for great views and don't mind a bit of exercise.
There are many viewpoints around Chefchaouen, but the best one is the Bouzafer Mosque, also known as the Spanish mosque. It's a modest mosque, but the views from it are breathtaking, and it's also recommended as the best place to watch the sunset. Of course, there are many viewpoints along the way, so the entire route to the mosque is one huge viewpoint.
