Bab El Khemis

Not safe here for tourists at night, especially women. We were at the hammam nearby (it was excellent) but needed a ride back to our hotel and got lost looking for it. This area is sketchy at night and locals even tried to warn us about it as we entered. Later a sketchy taxi screamed at us while we were waiting for the taxi we called. Once we got in our taxi that we called, the driver said that the area is “safe in light, ok for him, not for tourist, and where the drunkards hang out”. The next day our tour guide told us that it was an area where there are more fights and that he would never go there with his girlfriend. It did feel pretty sketchy at night.
Bab El Khemis in Marrakech is a hidden gem! I purchased planting pots at incredibly competitive prices and was so impressed that I went back again. The market is full of authentic treasures—from antiques to handcrafted goods—and offers a genuine local experience. Haggling is part of the fun, and the atmosphere is lively and vibrant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for unique finds and great deals in Marrakech!
It is a genuine local market, full of curious things - but mostly second hand. I won’t recommend this place for a solo female traveler, with people would be better! I went myself and I had a looong walk experiencing catcalling and two man following me. Besides that, interesting place to check!
I got a wonderful service thank you The salon is beautiful and the haircut was exactly what I wanted
Walked past here. Very local place. Unless you have something to do here, even curiousity must not tempt you to go there.
Barely anything of notice unfortunately
